Transient Thoughts

55 cm x 17 cm x 16 cm

Mould blown glass, cut and polished, and mounted on granite.

This sculpture is a representation of the way people can think in an ephemeral way. The base is a representation of the brain and subconscious, which is a foundation and starting point for all conscious thought. Thoughts can flow from the subconscious the way water can flow in a river, so the piece has a flowing quality across the subconscious. If you look down the sculpture you will see an almost turbine like effect as each piece is arranged slightly off so you can see them individually. This shows that the thoughts are ebbing and flowing on the subconscious. This technique represents nature, life, energy, and movement.
