Blue/Red Vortex Vessel

50 cm x 40 cm x 15 cm

Free blown glass, ground and polished, sand blasted, and brush polished.

This is a design evolution of the idea that the technique represents nature, life, energy, and movement.

The piece is not blown out, but gathered on over and over again to make the internal twisting more encased within the clear glass to form what looks more like a whirlpool in water. It is then flattened to form a flat oval shape. Then mounted and UV bonded to a block of granite to elevate the piece.
